Austria AFV Regr - Österreichisch Militärfahrzeug Register
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Okay, an AFV register for Austria also

Robert I will need your help with this this one

Because the only tank I know that has been used in Autria is the Jagdpanzer SK-105 Kürassier

I know that there are some vehicle's in the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum Wien
However the picture on the site of the museum is very bad quality

However I did find some on the Axis History Forum
forum.axishistory.com/...&p=1417737

Including:
SU-85
an Russian T34/85 with Autrian markings, did the Autrian army ever use T34 tanks Confused Confused Confused
M41 tank
M8 armored car
SK-105 Kurassier

Thanks Neil,

the museum at Rosenau is the Militärmuseum Rosenau

There is an T34/85 parked outside the museum
The link to the museum appears not to be working anymore, however there can be found some picture's here
militaria-fundforum.co...ht=rosenau
Most of the collection are weapons and uniforms of WW 1 and WW 2

Concerning the Fahrzeugmuseum at Bad Ischl, I did not find the sIG 33/1 however I did find another T34/85 there

Michel

Fort Nauders, T 34/85, M24 and Kurassier, first spotted in summer 2008, then again in summer 2009.

I am afraid pictures are visible only to registered forum members.

At least I can't see them, as I'm not logged in.

Pictures from 2008 show the tanks in the same state as above. In summer 2009 the M24 had its tracks back inplace and austrian markings were added to both M24 and T-34/85.

question about these markings on the T34, because they are also on the T34 in Vienna

Have there ever been T34 tanks in service in the Austrian army???

There are several T34 in The Netherlands and we are not painting Dutch markings onto them

Yes - Everyone forgets that half of Austria was occupied by the Russians till 1955 and they formed some austrian army units.
