Bonus! The Cadillac Gage Boneyard: V-150, Stingray, LAV-600
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I was able to use some of my connections to see what "legacy vehicles" Textron Marine & Land Systems has in storage... Not very pretty, but they'd like to restore them & put them on display in a showroom someday...

V-150 Commando

Stingray II?

LAV-600 (minus turret)

I always liked that Stingray and think it would have been a good replacement for the Sheridan.

I agree,

IIRC the Thai Army have them but are having problems keeping them operational. Mostly due to lack of funds. I guess that's what happens when you buy a system that a major power doesn't use. Parts are unique and can be quite expensive. Unlike the M41's they use. They always make the news when there's a coup.

Neil-
Thanks for posting these! I would love to talk to your contact if he/she would be interested. Have several cad gage questions.

The 'commando' is a Dragoon I suspect...

I must say (comparing to the pics on your site), the upper hull doesnt look right to me for a Dragoon and looks more like a V-150 but perhaps you are seeing something I'm not... Or perhaps its some sort of prototype inbetween?

Yeah I think it is as well. The double doors are an indicator for a Dragoon but I think that's the first one I have seen with them on both sides.

Ah, okay.... Here's why I'd say its more of a V-150 than a Dragoon:

1) Upper front hull. In the V-150 there is a drop from the crew compartment to the hull. On the Dragoon the diagonal line from the hull to the top of the crew compartment continues without such a major drop/break.
2) The Dragoon's driver windshield vision blocks are three-piece (modified from the M113's blocks?). The V-150 has more conventional vision blocks.
3) Overall, the Commando features smoother, cleaner lines. The Dragoon has harder, sharper edges/lines.

Overall, I'd call it a V-150 Commando - albeit perhaps with some Dragoon features (double doors). Although this could well be a Cadillac Gage prototype feature that wasnt initially used in production Commandos but later re-appeared on the Dragoon...

And then again it could be the TMLS-150

An Arrowpoint Dragoon hull with ASV/M1117 guts...

Is the Stingray the same as the XM8?
