Ordnance Museum Data Plates #9: Italian
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

M13 - two different data plates, I only have records for one?

I need some help with model identification for the following:

Fiat Ansaldo

Lancia

Second shot, the SPA plate belongs to an L6 (the Semovente 47/32 I guess), other plate in the same picture belongs to a second M13.

Thid shot, yet another M13... But dating back to 1942 most likely an M14 or M15.

Last shot, the SPA plate belongs to an AB 40.

Massimo,
Which number should be considered the "serial number" or equivalent?

"Matricola" = serial number
"Targa" = registration number

Hi friends,

I think this

SABIF

come from a boxcar or some sort of railway stuff.

SABIF was a brake manufacturer and "freno continuo", aka continuous brakes, is a system that used hoses connecting all the wagons of a train, so the driver could apply or release the brakes with a single valve in the locomotive commonly used worldwide.

Regards

Giacomo

Here are the numbers was able to pull off the plates by increasing the size of the original images (Photobucket shrunk them some).

M13 Matricola/SN 07006, Targa/Reg 4445

Second set of plates
Semovente da 47/32 su L6/40 (L-6-3) Chassis 54902
M13 Matricola/SN 01387, Targa/Reg 3521

Fiat-Ansaldo M13 Matricola/SN 03023, Targa/Reg ineligible

SPA plate ABM40 Chassis 47808

I am reading the last book from Daniele Gugliemi. He says M14's plates still used M13 as name. Nothing is mentioned about M15's plates.
