Engineer tanks at Hohne Camp, Germany
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

both first two pics - the Centurion 165 AVRE ... equipped with 165 mm demolition gun, dozer blade and fascine carrier (AVRE means Assault Vehicle Royal Engineers)

second pic - the Centurion 165 AVRE again, the trailer seems to be usual equipment carrying trailer (for spare fascines, demolition or mine clearing stuff etc) - I am sure it is not a Giant Viper Mine Clearing system)

third pic - the Centurion AVRE equipped with Trackwidth Mine Plough instead of dozer blade and fitted with rails to carry three Maxi-fascine rolls (only two carried here) or five Class 60 trackway carpet spools... Ah yes, can carry spare No.9 bridge for the Chieftain AVLB (Armoured Vehicle-Launched Bridge)

AVRE Centurions were converted from Mk.5 gun tanks...

Hi Palic! Hi Folks!

Ah yes, can carry spare No.9 bridge for the Chieftain AVLB (Armoured Vehicle-Launched Bridge)

Palic I agree with you on the first two tanks and the trailier.
However I must disagree with you on the third one. That is a Chieftain hull under all that engineering equipment.

hi all

ok teh first two pictures are Centurion AVRE 165mm with a 7 1/2 ton Sankey AVRE Trailer.
the third is a CHAVRE = Chieftain Armoured Engineer Vehicle Royal Engineers .

www.armouredengineers....hotose.htm

i loved teh Centurion AVRE & Bridgelayer also Chieftain AVLB . i served on them for 12 years and loevd every minute of it.
