Thats what I thought Bush and THE 6800GT'S I seen was more than the ATI X850 XT and the core speed and memory speed was better I believe. And the vid ram wasnt GDDR3 like the ATI.

This is kinda late but this dang site's so big I've only just got around to this section.

www.BuildYourOwn.Org.UK/Forums is another forum I belong to and you can get real good advice on building or just upgrading there. It's mainly based in the UK (because of the webmaster) but we have members from all over the world.

The members do tend to have an irational preferance toward AMD and nVidia though. Listen to the advice but make your own mind up.
I have an Intel / ATi system, and they've talked me into thinking about AMD / nVidia for my next outing (based on currently available hardware).

p.s. I'd say the 7800GTX would currently outperform the X850-XT (on the whole) and these are the two top cards for the moment.
BUT, both cards will perform differently in different game arena's:- Developers write software depending on their own hardware preferences. Software written for an ATi card will perform better on those cards than nVidia equivalents, and vice-versa.

I am not going to comment on this right now,but you guy's may be surprised... I am currently building my new Super Puter "NASA #3" and have purchased all new components from puter case to mobo, processor and vid card and maybe even 2 of them...new ram, new cooling system(s) etc...The system is half built with new case, mobo, ram, cooling and a few other things and is being burnt in before I add the new vid card or cards(keeping it secret for now). All I am going to say for now on vid cards is that there are alot of great products out there, some better than others and some hugely expensive for what they do. ...anyway, here is a shot of NASA #3 just after I fired her up with a new Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 840, 3.2GHz, EM64T XD Dual Core processor, I will keep the mobo and vid card selection secret for now as the vid card or card's and cooling systme aren't installed yet and the mobo info would give it all away. Install part two will happen in a couple day's when the processor has burnt in Smile
