Hi Spanky

Suggest you go into Control panel/ networ connections right click on your LAN connection then properties.

click TCIP then properties button

manually set the IP address (eg192.168.1.101 )and gateway address(your routers address usually 192.168.1.1) on each of your machines and shut down.

Power down your router for a minute or so, also press the reset button if it has one.... this is to clear all the mac addresses.

restart computers

access the router set up page usually http ://192.168.1.1 in ie address bar

under the advanced Tab
Goto port forwarding
enter port 23455 to your No. 1 Computer address
enter port 23456 to your No. 2 Computer address

Apply and save

Exit router set up

Don't know if all this is strictly correct but it works for me and my Linksys set up Rolling Eyes

If, by adding a static IP to each computer you find you cn't browse the internet then add the DNS servers as well.

Normally when using DHCP assigned IP's, the DNS is also assigned automatically. When you set up a static IP you generally find the spaces for DNS servers turn white and need some input. Not always the case but usually.

Accessing more than one computer

If you have more than one computer behind your router, you will need to assign each one a different external port. For example, if you want to access computers A and B, which are behind the same router, you could configure your router to forward port 5900 to A:5900 and port 5901 to B:5900. Some routers do not allow the external and internal port numbers to be different; in this case you would have to reconfigure the VNC Server running on B to accept connections on port 5901 and configure your router to forward port 5901 to B:5901.

From outside your LAN, you can connect to A using router-ip:0 (or just router-ip) and to B using router-ip:1, where router-ip is the IP address of your router, as determined in the previous section Shocked

What we are going to do is to open the ports on your router. We will use DMZ to open the ports since you are trying to join a lot of games.

Before we can open the ports on the router, we have to set one of your computers to static IP. In order for us to set static IP, we have to access the setup page of your router and be able to get the DNS settings.

Let me give you a brief background of what we are going to do.

1. Access setup page and get DNS servers.
2. Set static IP on your computer.
3. Open the ports on your router.

To avoid confusion, we’ll start with step 1: getting of DNS settings.

Please follow these steps:

1. Access the setup page of the router using the router’s IP address. The default router’ IP address is 192.168.1.1. Just leave the username blank and type admin for the password. If you have changed the router’s password during the initial setup, you may use that password. If the router doesn’t accept the admin as well as your password, try to reset the router for 5 seconds.
2. Click on Status tab and tell me the first two DNS numbers.

Please also indicate the tabs that you see on the setup page of your router.

For frequently asked questions, you may visit the knowledgebase at www.linksys.com/kb. Mr. Green hope this helps some Spanky and good luck with it... *Kandy*
