Thanks, Jerry - cache cleared and reduced to three days - indeed, I do this job now and then, I just didn't know what you was referring to 'cause here it has a localized name, which there vshould sound like "chronology".

I didn't cleared the cookies, instead, 'cause they keep track of login names and pw's of several sites I visit often, and as my memory is waning more and more as years go by, they help me a lot.

IE keeps two types of files in the cache - cookies and all the rest. The "all the rest" is images, web page source files, etc. The advantage to this is that if you're on dialup, image files don't need to be re-downloaded every time you visit a site. The downside is that it takes up HD space and might possibly be a security risk. On broadband, the issue of not having to redownload only comes up if you have a bandwidth limit. Most plans that I know of don't. In the Internet Options dialog, you'll see an "Advanced" tab a the top. Click that, then go down to the Security section. Locate and check the box for "Empty Temporary Internet Files when browser is closed." Now, when you close all of your open IE windows and your Outlook Express, that cache will automatically empty itself except for the cookies and "Favicons." (Every once in a while, Windows will forget to dump the files. I normally go in at the end of the night before I go to bed and manually dump the cache and clear the cookies as well.)

I also have the "Days to keep History" set to zero. That automatically resets the History at Midnight every night.

OK, think this is the last thing I tried. Sorry but I've tried a couple different things that seemed to have no affect but this is easy enough and 99.9% sure it was my last effort.

Go into your account.
under configuration go into my preferences.
at bottom hit reset button.

No matter what your current selection is for each of the below, re-select it as such.
under show e-mail address select yes
notify me of replies select yes
notify me of new private messages select yes

Click the save changes button at the bottom and log out.

log back in, go to My Account/Preferences and the only thing I changed was selecting NO under "show my email address" because that's the way I had it before the glitch.

Select save changes button and hopefully it works for ya.

Thanks fr8ycat!

I've checked all the server settings and database settings and all seems to be in order which lead me to believe it's in the individual users account or browser settings. I've been getting reports from people that says they didn't do anything and it just started working again...lol

Thanks the tips and I hope this helps anyone having the same issues...

I haven't touched anything, and I got a response to this one - not sure what's up with other threads yet. Either way, it's not that big a deal. I read all new posts in a few certain forums, and have the new PM popup enabled. Email notification is just a bonus with those settings.

Well since it started working for the remainder of us about the same time i'd say either it was my personal preferences affecting us all................

Or what I did above, really did nothing Laughing
