Not to switch the topic from Gibson to Fender but speaking of Rory Gallagher, did any of you git-tar players see the tribute edition Strat that Fender did?

It was in their catalog last year but I don't see it on their wesbsite now. Here's a link for some interesting reading at least.......

Looks nice.
Not sure the 'look' works though.
Looks like a Mex' Fender that's had a couple of 'go-faster-flame' stickers added.
Rest of the body just looks finished rather than worn.

As a non Strat fan, even I have to admit the Fender 50th anniversary programme was good. Some great bluesy/rockin' contributions from some amazing players. My favourite piece of the whole thing was a little piece from Chris Rea. Up until I saw that I didn't realise what a great guitarist he is. He's been ill for a number of years but is back on track again now but not playing like he was then.
