Post subject: Setting the X-52 profile for teamspeak

This is a repost of the instructions that I saw at Hovercontrol to set one of the keys on the X-52 joystick to transmit for teamspeak. I modified it to match the keyboard key that I use, and the thumb button on the top of the joystick as my key. I've found that by not taking my hand from the joystick, I can retain some of the control that I might need at just that right moment, and still have the ability to use the teamspeak to answer questions posed to me. I found in the past, that to take hands away to tap the keyboard, sometimes made it tough, especially when landing or flying a helicopter.

You must assign a key that isn't already in use by FS.

For the benefit of others who don't know how to assign a key for their X52 (or for those who are getting an X52 soon), this may help a bit, taken from the beginning:

TeamSpeak2

Open TeamSpeak, then select SETTINGS

select SOUND INPUT / OUTPUT SETTINGS

Set your Voice Send Method by selecting PUSH TO TALK, then clicking on the SET button

at the prompt, select and push a key on your keyboard (I chose CTRL as my PTT key)

Test to make sure your key works, then close TeamSpeak

Saitek X52

Plug in your X52 Joy Stick

Place your cursor over the X52 icon in your tool tray, right click and select PROFILE EDITOR

You end up at the Profile Editor for the X52

Select the button on your joystick that you want to use for TS (I have chosen FIRE C)

Place your cursor just under the words FIRE C on the right of the Profile Editor and click the LEFT mouse button

NOW press the key that you set on your keyboard for TS (I chose CTRL before, so I press CTRL on my keyboard)

you will see a icon with CTRL appear in the Fire C square

THEN click on the GREEN arrow

NEXT save your profile (I have saved mine as TS for this tutorial)

Once you have saved your profile, load your X52 profile, load TeamSpeak, go fly and chat away

If you have created a profile for FS or use a profile that doesn't have a PTT for TeamSpeak setting in it, all you need do is edit your exisiting profile and you're done.

Never thought about it but would make using TS while flying easier. Will have to try it on my Logitech.

I use a little free program called Joytokey. This works with all joysticks. You just start the program when you start Teamspeak.

Instructions and download below.
