Kaspersky security software is banned in America: What you need to know

I am one of the lucky sob’s that got bit by this situation. I have been using Kaspersky products since 2009 and I only found out about the change when two of my three systems, Mom & Dad's, were upgraded without my consent Monday evening, September 26, 2024. The third system, mine, is not using Kaspersky so it should remain safe.

I still have not got this debacle fixed. I am going to have to buy an inexpensive computer and get it all set up and then go back and work on the two that were caught in this mess. I forgot to update this thread. I finally used the free version of Revo Uninstaller to remove the ransomware/malware from my parents computers... Whoops, I mean virus software.

Their systems have been doing just fine since I got rid of UltraAV and installed Bitdefender on them. Bitdefender can be a bit overzealous for the experienced user but for me it is doing an awesome job keeping my parents online footprint in check.
