I hafta try once again to remember how to install the stoopsite,,,,,is easy to forget a silly thing after installing 15 gigs worth of addons in FS9,,,,,can you help me with that one boss?,,,,,,


No sweat Hoppa.....hey did you look in our private forum under "CFS3 Essentials" where I put our catalogue of install tips and such (just for grand occasions like this)? Have an entry in there, with the URL for the gunsight, and instructions on where to unzip it to....that should set you up, if not, shout, but it's all still current and correct.

I too have to admit to having an itch for some bloodletting....am getting on another plane to Tejas in the AM but wil be back this weekend......Will see you then, Promise!

heya firestorm,,,,yeah,,,got in there and tried desperatly to join a game but was all full......figured I would try out hosting and as I took flight I noticed a couple very important buttons were overlooked for my controller......I then went to try and fix it while in the game still and froze up.....sorry bout that,,,,,but I shall return,,,,am on holidays next week and no plans except for lotsa putering.......will seeya there for sure.... Mr. Green

I guess the "bad apple" remark was ment to me. But you know, I run my own squad now, JG101, still flying strong after 2 years, and nobody thought so far of me as a bad apple. I guess it comes down sometimes to a difference what you project into the squad. JG300 flies a lot of FS2004 now, while JG101 is still full WW2 on IL2 today and still has the best historical mission campaigns on the web, except for those guys www.histoire-simulation.org/

...they are even way crazier then we are. The most important is to find guys that share your vision of what the squad is. I turned quickly to full researched historical missions and campaigns. That asks a lot of dedication and time from the leaders. Its great when your mates join you in this..flying tactics with "death" penalty, points for kills and RTB, awards etc, that makes it for me...the "air quake"
let me quickly rather cold...especially the "deck dancing" in CFS3.
Stoopy is right when he says a squad is work, and it can be a rough ride sometimes...conflicts will occur sooner or later for sure...but when it works out ok and you have all fun, then its a great place to be.

Not really, unless, you want to think so. It was actually a point of good advice (one of few but very important ones) that was shared with me a long time ago by a good friend in another group. One that has been together for quite some tme (possibly more than JG300 and JG101 put together, I'd surmise). Like it or not, over the years there were a few other folks who made life stressful for some swines and didn't pan out; of them, you are the only one who has continued in the squad path (the others were just plain bad seeds) which indicates your circumstance was more over group direction and goals (you were clearly ready for your own group and have proven that to be so), as opposed to the rare "bad seed" types who generally try to make life extremely difficult and unrewarding for other members for no real visible reason.

They're few and far between however, luckily, and only merit a mention in passing.

Hehe, allright then Stoopy. Smile I have always thought of you as a good leader, even if I had my little period of bitterness. But thats all past. Campaigns were flying rotte formation, applying the right tactic, getting home, correct voice comms etc; is more important then dogfighting is what I wanted....it wasnt so clear for me at the time...but it kinda fell into that place in the end. I made some projects like this in JG300 at the time, but it recived not so much interest I had the impression. Time schedule can also be a problem. JG101 is almost full european, that makes things a lot easier. It also has to be said that I dont regret a second to have left CFS3 for IL2. You can have endless debates about those two games, and I really dont want to start one, but one thing is for sure: IL2 is in every aspect superior as far as online goes. Not to mention the sheer amount of players..Hyperlobbys is full every night with up to 1000 players. and some or even many of them are dam good. Joining IL2 was the right decision for our squad and its goals. That alone was a break with the CFS3 community, and has changed radically what was possible to do for us, as IL2 offers incredibly wide ranged possibilities for online missions and campaigns.
I think the most important thing for squad leading is to propose a clear vision of something. Then you will find people eventually who are looking for just that. As our "trip" is a bit special and "hardcore", it wasnt easy, and JG101 never grew over 8 players, but on the other hand they are die-hard loyal, they know planes and history really well. This kind of small high quality group wanting to go into the "hardcore simming" on base of actual events is a really cool thing to have, at least it suited what I was looking for. But it always stays work and its never granted....that is for sure.
