Post subject: Force Feedback Pitch roll and yaw

S! Alle,
I have finally gotten a job that may even help out my sick desire to make a simulator chair. I am working for a linear motion company, and now have access to actuators and all sorts of control equipment. I am charged with making demos for our new products and tearing apart the old demos. So I find this aluminum rail assembly which was used to hold a drill. when rotated on its side and you add a chair it becomes the frame of a cockpit...!!!!

Now, we all know about the Force feedback joystics that vibrate like a cheap hotel room bed, I would like to take these force feed back signals and run them ino the actuators to simulate the palnes movements on the ground.

then I thought about the the other movements the plane makes which are displayed on the monitor...how coud i simulate the other axes of travel.

Here are your questions gentle readers:
1-how would one send the signals to the actuators? I think USB might be good.
2-Are the other axes movements availble to be sent?
3-Are the other axes universal, think along the lines of the force feedback signals... almost all current flight sims have a force feed back cfg file or one incorporated into the aircraft. Either way a signal is sent to the FFB stick and it vibrates accordingly. We all know that the monitor reflects the movement of the plane now can we get that info and translate it to axial movement?
Lets here your thoughts on this.

Thanks
fritz

~S~ One of my buddies (Hansel Gretel) is working on a sim chair that is near completion. I will check with him on where he got the specifics for it. It is a combo of low and high-tech, but sounds quite interesting.

S! Stepchild,
thanks for the nes...I kind of figured that some here would at least know someone who knew how this is done...
LOL what a sentence.

I think this would be real fun to make...and I might even be able to have the company pay fr it if I make it a demo unit for a trade show.

HI, Wolter: Thanks! I didn't find the complete link. I purchased the soft ware sometime ago and I was Very satisfied with it. It has fx. a breaking affect that is unsurpasses the default forces, you even feel the turn forces on the stick. I just e-mailed you regarding help with an avatar I'd like to put in.
