Yep it's real Hammer,you can even buy your own 3-D printer for around 1500$ Keep in mind though that the scanning of the Pig sty girls for such purposes would be considerd an act of war.

A recent episode of "Jay Leno's garage" demonstrated how he uses one to make 3D part that were created in CAD/CAM so he can send a "real" item to machinists, etc. for the purpose of fabricating parts for old cars for which he doesn't have the original bit to copy. Gives them something to match apart from drawings.
