HAH!
We opened for The Vapours ("Turning Japanese" was their single) one night at a college gig, when we were just starting out!
Adrian Lillywhite was playing bass and his brother, Steve, had showed up as well.
At the time Steve had become a rather famous producer for his work with the early U2.
Was an interesting night.
Our normal truck driver had cried off sick and the guy he got to replace him one-punched one of the two bouncers present, after his suitability for gaining entry to the gig was... questioned.
After we'd done our bit and were breaking down a couple of oiks tried to pinch some of our gear from the back of the truck.
The afore-mentioned driver had a quick and quiet word with them (out of sight) as well.

Just realised that was even before I'd started playing CFS.
Geeze!
I'm old.
