Post subject: Artillery in Bergamo

I talked about the Semovente on the AFV's forum. Not that far from it, inside "La Rocca", an old fortress in of Bergamo Alta (the core of the city, dating back to the mid-age), you can find five artillery pieces. Those kind of guns are pretty common in Italy, but I guess they could be interesting anyway.

There is a 47/32 mod 1935. The main anti-tank weapon for Italian Army in WW II:

Two Skoda 75 mm mountain howitzers, used by austro-hungarians in WW I, then by the italians in WW II (germans used them in WW II as well):

A 75/27 mod 1911. Version used for horse artillery:

There is its trolley too:

Finally, two 100 mm howitzers from Skoda, one is still in the WW I configuration, designed for horses:

Later on the Italian Army got plenty of these, many were adpated for motor tractors, and used during WW II and even later. Note the differences compared to the previous picture:

Massimo, Thank you for taking the time to share these photos, those pieces are pretty rare here in the US......

Glad to hear that. I also have quite a good collection of even more esotic swiss artillery. Not sure if it would be better to order them by location or model.

Unfortunately when it came to swiss artillery my knowledge isn't that good, because the literature is all in german... And I can't read it Sad
So I can post pictures, but not answer questions.

Massimo
