Sad to have just learned of the passing of one of CFS1's more unique "Gentlemen Fliers" over the weekend.

MC steadfastly refused to join squad ranks but could be persuaded to join the occasional "open" squad dogfights.

Flying and chatting with him was always fun and enlightening.
We once got into a game as wingmen.
He insisted that we flew the bloody awful Spitfire, because "no one else does"! Lolol.
We flew against two 'Canes and two Ponies and somehow won.
I can only presume that was because our opponents gave us no chance and focussed on each other, leaving us to mop up their remains each time.

I stayed in touch with him (via Facebook) through his marriage and emigration to Europe, then divorce and return to FL.
The latter he found painfully challenging.
If you didn't come across MC in your CFS1 days, I feel sorry for you.
You have missed one of the reasons to play it and an experience.
