Post subject: vid cards

I have a unique situation as most of my EURO bretheren know(cause I whine about it all the time).... Here is my problem...I only have PCI and PCIx1 (not 16) slots for vidio upgrades...I need a good middle of the road card to handle the graphics of FSX and BOB (when it comes out). Right now I do not want to pay over 300.00 US for it. My 125meg onboard vidio is ok for now so,but I need to find a card that will keep up for a couple of years.....ANY suggestions?

Rigel

What board do you have bro?
I'm assuming it's an AGPx8 board which means you will need an AGPx8 card.
There are still some good ones to be had right now but, essentially, we've reached the limit of AGP development which is why you see games and gamers opting for PCI-e.

THIS list is essential reading for anyone thinking about a new card at the moment.
You will be able to find further info on the same site about individual cards in the test.

Okey-dokey.
I'm off to beddy-bies in a moment (have to get my beauty sleep for sweets).
If you can post the make and model of your mobo in the meanwhile (so I can look it up), that would be great bro.

What flight sim games are you able to run on it at the moment?
I've seen you in FB so I'm guessing that runs okay(?).
