Free? DID YOU SAY FREE? Wink

Thanks Marco and I've downloaded both the FS9 and FS10 versions. Smile

So far, I've only tried the FS9 version and it's a pretty good project. I was a tad disappointed in the VC mainly due to some blurry textures, but by no means will that stop me from flying this great aircraft/project of Premaircraft!

This is a wonderful project from Premaircraft and that makes me want to try more of their projects Wink

Yeah, maybe we're a bit spoiled by the finesse of details of Miltons VC's, but these are not bad at all, and the visual impact is noteworthy, expecially in the dark - with and without the cabid light switched on:

Also, the throttles, mixture and prop levers don't work, but have a look around and you'll find out that everything else does, and there are some features in this (and other PAD planes) that will surprise you.

After all, if you go on 2D panel, you'll see the level of accuracy achieved by these guys, who always put particular attention on their panel; this explains why often apparently identical versions of the same plane own different panels.

Still, you have to see their new Twin Otter, and the incredible Turbo Beaver!
Cool

I believe it's a good bargain, after all, eh?
Wink
Planning to introduce it soon into the Sunday flights, just need to test compatibility between the two versions. By the way, anybody available for a quick online test? It's just a matter of minutes, better time around 19:00 GMT or so...

every Aircraft is a separate install. at the end this will end up in a pile of Aicrafts as for every distinct repaint there is a complete new aircraft folder.

I'm looking into it to combine the whole thing into one folder so it saves precious resources for all, so hold yer horses for a lil there Marco, in case of alternative we can also use the stock Lear, saves a lot of hassle.

my proverbial two pence for the well known archive

Yeah, Wolter, I'm aware of that, and I guess this means the LJ60 wouldn't benefit as expected from a repackaging, but this is not the first problem to be solved before deciding to adopt it, given also that we don't have permission to repackage it yet.
Wink
As we need planes compatible with both FS9 and FSX, in this case I'm not sure we can simply drop the FS9 version into FSX, as an FSX version of the same plane already exists... or, to be more exact, the FSX version came first, and only later they released an FS9 one.

It happens that, at least in the case of the Cirrus Aviation one (the only one I inspected so far), the two versions have mdl files with the same name. By logic, I presume the two "different" versions should be visible by players of the "other" sim in the same FsHost session.

Ok, wait, trying to untie the knots in my brain... what I mean is: in an FsHost with mixed FS9 and FSX takers, an FS9 players using the FS9 Cirrus Aviation should be able to correctly see an FSX player flying the FSX Cirrus Aviation, and vice-versa.

As I imagine there must be a reason why at PAD they bothered providing different versions, probably in the attempt to optimize them for the respective sims, I don't see why we should give up with it without trying to see if this choice prevents us from seeing each other as it should.

Then, if this doesn't work, ok, let it alone and let's look for another plane, but as I've been asked for new planes, please, leave the stock Learjet into its hangar - I believe it's the same model as in FS2002, if not before, so if we are looking for the thrill of the discovery, I don't think it would fit the case, isn't it?

So, I agree with you, let's be prudent and proceed step after step. Before risking a waste of time in a possibly troublesome repackaging, let's see if this LJ60 matches CC's requirements.

The same problem described above applies to all the Premaircraft models - there are several which are beautiful indeed, it would be a pity to discard them without testing.
