Surviving Panzers website
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I've heard the Panzerattrappe gate-guardian in Overloon is gone. Can any dutch friend confirm the news?

new information about the LT vz. 38 (Pz.Kpfw. 38(t)) of the Lešany museum:

The tank is actually assembled from two different tanks. While the chassis comes indeed from one of the first 10 tanks (it has serial number "8" as already stated), the turret comes from the Ausf. G variant. The turret was probably placed on the original chassis during wartime repairs.

Source: new book about the LT vz. 38 by historians from the Military History Institute (the state institution that runs the Lešany museum).

And also about the SdKfz.10 which is listed as in the Private Collection in the Czech Republic and which is build mostly from replica parts. This one is displayed in the Tankodrom Milovice.

The Lešany museum also mentioned last year, that they are looking for an engine for their M4A3E4 Sherman and expect to restore it into running condition in next three-four years.

The M4A1(76) Sherman listed as in Pilsen Zoo (Czech Republic) is no longer in Pilsen Zoo but is being repaired (not into running condition). After the restoration (shoud be finishd very soon), it will be placed into a courtyard of a building in Pilsen, where the Patton Memorial wiil be moved (probably next year).
