Post subject: Are these what I think they are?

Found this Legion Post by google mapping "american legion" and viewing the results in streetview. Are these 7.5cm PaK 40's like I think they are? There's markings engraved on them that definitely look like German military terminology.

Bullet hit?

It's a little odd to find WW2 German artillery just sitting around in Cincinnati, to be honest, but who am I to complain? Smile

That's about as PAK40 as you can get! Two of them? Interesting.

They seem to be in surprisingly good shape, too. Is anyone at that Legion aware of the historical treasures they have sitting next to their building?

Chuck

The guy I talked to didn't seem to.

They look pretty good from these, but I saw a lot of corrosion when I was shooting the details.

These were redone a couple years ago by the son on one of the Vets, they are right on the edge of the road so they get lots of salt in the winter..Quite a bit more artillery on that road, 2 57mm ATGuns and another set of 3inch AT guns down the road a short ways

Where are the 3inch AT's? I found the 57mm's, but I hadn't noticed those on Google maps.

Just down the road West a short distance, off to the right is Saylor Park with the 2 3inch Anti-Tank Guns, ask any of the locals. You can't see it from the road. Then a little bit down the road are 2 57mm M-1 Anti-Tank Guns at the American Legion.

Saylor Park

Addyston, there are 2 of these here I'm pretty sure

O_O I was in Sayler Park after I took those PaK 40 photos! I must not have noticed because I was so annoyed at taking so long to turn around. I'll be sure to get them once fall semester starts Smile
