Working on something (which should be VERY COOL and more info on that later) that involves the CFS3 map and airfields.

I need to verify something - can anyone (as many as possible) please go look at their map of CFS3 and see if they have the following airfields show up:

- Luxembourg, in the country of Luxembourg of course, right between the border of Germany and France. I can't seem to find it in the menus, nor is it in the country/airfield XML definitions file, and a search for any files containing this name yields nothing - yet, there it is, plain as day on my CFS3 map.

- Corte, on the island of Corsica, just below the western coast of Italy. Shows up in the CFS3 airfield seledction under the country code of "France"

I don't remember adding these as part of any add-on, and my setup is fairly stock without a lot of additions, to avoid multiplayer hassles. But as part of this proiject I need to know if these 2 airfields are on everyone else's map or if they should be excluded.

Hi Stoopy,Ifound Luxembourg airfield on my map but could not find Corte,I checked my directory under France but Corte was not listed.

Hey Stoop. Corte came with a 46th scenery deal I think. Was one of my favorite places to fly! Corte is definitely an add-on airfield.

I didn't check in the game for this but just going off memory.

Combat I believe you are right, I don't recall reinstalling that but since I also have the 46th fly-through hangars (that have caught more than one Tempest pilot unawares in online chases) I guess that's it.

Luxembourg is an oddity - no way to select it as a start airfield and it's not in the XML file so it's just plain strange how it's there.

I think this has happened to me before. I didn't have the addon scenery installed but when I joined a server that did, CFS3 would take a while to load. I think it downloaded the scenery data and such..weird.

Hey stoop u may want to get this...

Way back ...when CFS3 first came out, the Chaps Squadron put together some nice stuf. If you go to this link www.chapshq.com/ , go to the downloads section, then to CFS3 MISC you will find a download called Airfields and Landmarks for CFS3. Somewhere in my desk drawer I still have this great spreadsheet. It has the Latitude and Longitude for every airfield that came with the stock game. Along with the runway setup, the airfield ID, and altitude. It also has every landmark and its location...for example Tower of London, Notre Dame, Stonehendge, the Pantheon....neat stuf like that!

...oh and Luxembourg is listed. I had to go back and check!

...you will also find a map of CFS3 and the location of every default airfield in CFS 3.

Thanks Bat!!! Hmmmm.....not too bad! Although, it's too funny, just got done basically redoing all of that from scratch, guess I shoulda looked harder! Even made the spreadsheet too, which was actually easy since there's an XML file with all that info that can be imported into MS Excel as a table with a minimum of fuss.
