Heavy Tank ID?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Heavy Tank ID?
I'm looking at LIFE Magazine photos of the T29 and T30 heavy tanks. I noticed they both had 8 sets of roadwheels. The tank in photo only has seven. Can anyone ID it?

I have an old copy of British and American Tanks of World War II by Peter Chamberlain and Chris Ellis that gives a complete list AFVs with both production and experimental projects including heavy tanks, pretty bland (old and dog eared) book but very informative.

I'm pretty sure its a m57 chassis, I think it may have been used for other T series tanks that never made it into production. Here a picture of it,
