Poznan, armoured weapon museum
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

At the Poznan citadel the following was noted;

IS-2 m1943 s/n NC122402 (25)

T-34/85 s/n 4050351

T-55 s/n 34Z753D (1963 Polish built tank)

T-72 s/n B87JK846
If this is a Polish built tank it should be built in 1984. For what I know the 2nd and 3rd position are indicating the month of production, but 87 is a little strange.... Also the JK lettercombo I have never seen (JN T-72M, JLN T-72M interim? and JM1N T-72M1?). Who can help with these Polish serials?

Regards,
Lesley

@ Armyjunk2; a colleague of me was invited to see demonstrations at the Land Warfare Training Center in Poznan and Biedrusko. Part of the visit was the citadel museum and the museum at the military base.

@Taranov, Thanks you very much for explaning the number! Do you know more about these numbers (T-34, T-54/55 etc)?

Regards,
Lesley

From Museum's collections: T34/85 & SU-100, and vehicles of our friends: TKS, Stuart, Halftrack M3, OT-810, BTR-40, FUG etc,etc,
StuG IV will be taken out of the garage, but will not be running the show.

The vehicles currently used by Polish Army: PT-91, Rosomak (Wolverine) ..., but I don't know whether it will show this vehicles in motion .

@Taranov: Thank you Smile

@bialy-r:
Almost all of them can be quickly brought into running condition.
Economic reasons, in running condition we keep only 3 vehicles (T34-85, SU-100, StuG IV) Probably soon join them IS-2.
