The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

KNOXINFO: Colors Casing Ceremony to Mark End of 71-year Armor Era at Fort Knox

After 71 years, the U.S. Army Armor School will case its flags at 9 a.m. on June 10 at Brooks Parade Field, marking the transition of the last remaining Armor School elements at Fort Knox to their new home at Fort Benning, Ga.

The June 10 ceremony will feature the Armor School's primary armor training units - the 194th Armored Brigade and the 316th Cavalry Brigade - rolling up their respective flags, or colors, and casing each in a green sheath, signifying the end of their missions at Fort Knox. These two units will uncase their colors at a ceremony at Fort Benning on June 20.

The colors casing ceremony is open to the public and the attendance of the Fort Knox workforce is highly encouraged for this important event.

All I can say is it feels like when we had to pack up grandmother and send her to the nursing home. I hope it will be better than that but I just have so many doubts that everything will not go down hill.
