I just finished reading thru a multi-volume report.

Tracked Vehicle Performance Data Consolidation
Report No: DPS-1846 (dated Dec 1965)

"This data consolidation presents the major performance characteristics of tracked vehicles as obtained during testing at Aberdeen Proving Grounds by the Engineerung & Environmantal Test Branch."

I compiled a table of vehicles tested & RNs which gives some good dated reference information of vehicles tested at APG.

I figured someone here might be interested in this info....

Regarding the M551 Sheridan, the following two tests give an interesting sequence of registration numbers and serial number.

Confirmatory 1 Test
US Army Armor & Engineer Board (Ft Knox Ky)
23 Dec 1966 - 31 July 1967

SN 8 / RN 13C513
SN 15 / RN 13C520
SN 16 / RN 13C521
SN 17 / RN 13C522
SN 18 / RN 13C523**

Note: SN 18 is destroyed during Air Drop

No SNs but I figured the pilot # with RN was fairly 'tell-tale'.

On the M551 SN / RN comparison, this might give one the ability to determine specific Vehicle information if the sequence runs true.
