Preserved Tanks in the Netherlands
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Lesley, do you have any comment on this number?

Does anyone have pictures of it running at Militracks? Tim?

For this one I have s/n 47229 which was on the ''normal'' place on the glacis plate. The meaning of the painted number I don't know.

Thanks for the information

About all vehicles are part of the collection of the National Military Museum Delft and are listed at the musuem website.
www.collectie.legermus...08237.html

Except for the ones listed below

- L.Delsing

Centurion mk.5 w/20pdr r/n KX-10-85, found a number which was ''hull 157/150). This tank is a former Oirschot monument.
Leopard 1V s/n 8559 r/n KU-90-46 (r/n painted over)

M668 Crane vehicle r/n KN-44-27
MLRS US Army, not a former NLD vehicle
YPR-765PRCO r/n KY-63-08 s/n NL1572DAF (painted in a white UNPROFOR c/s. Vehicle was used to train soldiers which went to Bosnia and is not actually used in Bosnia)

Especialy the MLRS is interresting, because there where no surviving MLRS known in NLD (no matter where they came from)

The R/N of the M577 can be confirmed to be KZ-76-02.
Last know storage location was at Maaldrift depot, 330 Material Maint.Plt

Thanks for the serial number - I've updated the entry. Also, with the help of Word's Cyrillic character set and the google translate website I worked out that the writing simply means "Fuel".

Michel - two of those photos (at the bottom of the page) didn't have dates in them - do you have a date for them?

Trevor,

the last 2 are dated 2006-04-24

For some reason most of the photo's of that day don't have a date stamp, however there are some that have a date Wink

Thanks, updated. I've added the pictures for the other two vehicles as well - the broad range of dates for the Renault FT give it a particularly nice 'time machine' view:

Unique ID 143: Overloon Crusader Gun Tractor

Unique ID 211: Overloon Renault FT

I wonder why I didn't see these vehicles when I visited - were they not on display, or did I just miss them (I didn't manage to visit every part of the museum)?
Also, Michel, your Netherlands Register lists an M4A1 as a monument in the museum park - can you tell me more and provide photos?
