Buried Sherman in Arnheim

That's not a complete tank It is only a turret ,and was put there during the cold war It is about 2 km from where I live ( it's Arnhem )

Walter, it may be possible the whole hull is still there, poured in concrete. Usually the whole vehicle was stripped so you only had a hull with a fully operational turret left. An entrance was then cut in the hull before it was placed in a hole and covered with concrete. Greetz David

Your quite right David I asked a friend who studies the IJssellinie It is a carcas of the tank on 4 wheels in concrete There is a engine in it for rotating the turret

This example had a MG fitted in place of the main gun. You can see the mantlet is welded up. The turret was rotated by hand power.
