The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I'll still miss the old museum in Skövde where you could crawl over, under and inside most vehicles - and everything was available.

The old museum in Axvall did not care much about the collection.
Because the visitors were "allowed" to crawl all over many items have been stolen from the vehicles.

Many unique items have been scrapped, sold or given away - several Maybach HL 120 sold to private collectors. There was a Pz III turret once - sold.
The Tiger Engine and Gearbox went on loan and we all know the result of that.

No I think the new museum is a success and the new staff do care about the collection in another way than before.

From your description, the management of the museum will probably improve for the better of the collection. But still, for the non-kleptomaniac tank afficionado, the old museum was extremely interesting As I understand it, the new museum will, eventually, have a stoorage area open for the public, so more vehicles can be seen?
