Obviously for a quick retreat! Maybe it was made for the French army! (Winky!)

Have seen several similar devices being used for road/runway clearance of ice/snow. Odd that it points straight back, though, with no directional nozzle.

The sprockets are visible so it's pointing forward - I guess you just drive it along like a big snow plough.

Hi Folks!
Interesting! Maybe they are testing jet engines and using the weight of the tank to hold the engine?
Sgt, Scouts out!

It appears to be the conventional R-R "Nene" engine configuration. Is the photo dated? Nenes had a short production run.

It's a twin engined version too!
Developed at SADE as a mine clearance vehicle. Just blew the mines out of the sand they were buried in.
Did a Valentine too.

Also, a hedge-jumping Universal Carrier.
Now, that wasn't a great success!

Twenty years ago, Czech (?) crews extinguished Kuwaiti oil fires with jet engines on T55 chassis'. Put enough wind on the oil plume, and the flames will be starved for oxygen.
As for the original question, I betting on mobile test bed. Weld on some brackets, drive from the lab to an open space, and light the fires. When it is over, drive back under cover. This would work in crowded UK where you can't throw a dead cat without breaking a window or bothering someone.

A Ram chassis for sure with CDP tracks, I could use this in the fall to blow the leaves off my lawn in the fall......:)

Dear Friends,
in Kuwait has not been used in the Czech SPOT-55, but the Hungarian fire truck of chassis T-34.

The picture that I am seeing is a Valentine not a Ram. Not sure what the device is.
