Pencader Heritage "Chrysler Delaware Tank Plant"
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Pencader Heritage "Chrysler Delaware Tank Plant"
1st photo caption. Newark teachers at the Chrysler Plant. Many of the Teachers were from Central Middle School and Newark High.

2nd Photo. The first two Chrysler built production models of the Patton 48 medium tank are shown as they were driven from the factory April 11, 1952.

3rd photo. Patton 48 tanks move down the assembly line at the new Chrysler Delaware Tank Plant, Newark, Delaware. Where this tremendous operation goes on, there were only barren fields in January 1951. Less than 12 months later, the first tanks rolled from this line.
