BBC America is showing a new show with Richard Hammond from 'Top Gear'.

The episode thats on now features the M1 Abrams.

Actually it is the M1A2 SEP, from 1st AD unit at Ft Bliss.

Watching this show reminds me how much I miss the sights and sounds (and smells) of 'Being There'.

I just never got to run over a Porche though.

Doggone Brit journalist from a car show gets the royal treatment, but as a.S. taxpayer they don't even want me on post Smile

I would just settle for firing a .50 once!

Firing the 'flex' accurately on the M1A2 is not such an easy proposition. I learned the hard way not to unlock the traverse lock. The recoil will rotate it 'freely'.

I personally never liked the 'butterflys' in the chest method, preferred the 'Rat Patrol' method of locked elbows and was able to aim far more accurately.

Firing the 'Ma Deuce' is a rush though.

All those years I spent on tanks, I NEVER got the chance to run over cars, he got to flatten three......NOT FAIR!! Crying or Very sad
