Belgrade. Kalemegdan Fortress
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Time to show some pictures from my recent trip:

One interesting piece of info, a book edited by Belgrade Military Museum says the Pz I F in Kubinka was donated by them.

WW II Italian tanks were designed for mountain warfare, being "rocks safe" was a major requirement Smile

Walking around the Fortress I've also spotted this armored cupola. It looks familiar, but I am not able to identify it properly. I am asking around on italian forums, but so far I've failed to nail it down

The artillery over there is impressive. I've started posting about it here:

Thanks for showing us all those early vehicles.

Any idea why they are painted in late war camo?

As a guess, because whoever was wielding the brush, didn't know any different?
Certainly not "official" RAL colours either, so we just have to be thankful, that someone decided to preserve them at all!
