Surviving M3 and M3A1 Stuart tanks
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

M3 Stuart turret and part of hull - Australian War Memorial Museum, Canberra (Australia)

History:

First arrived at Milne Bay, then transported to Buna. One of seven M3 Stuarts of the 2/6th Armoured Regiment including this tank were supporting troops of the 2/9th Infantry Battalion at Cape Endaiadere.

On December 18, 1942 this tank bellied on a log during first Allied tank operation in Papua during the Buna campaign. Japanese troops were able to light a fire underneath the tank disabling it, but the the crew were able to escape unharmed.

Recovered from the Buna battlefield during the middle of 1973, and was transported to Port Moresby by barge. Next, shipped to Australia to the Australian War Memorial Second World War Hall.

I think the tank isn't the same as the one in Etimesgut Tank Müzesi, Ankara.
