Post subject: First two high tows

www.youtube.com/watch?...detailpage www.youtube.com/watch?...ature=plcp These are my first two tows now that I have graduated to the high tow field It was almost too windy for us rookies to fly so I did get bumped around a bit and right at 4:19 on my first flight I was setting up my landing approach and turbulence shot my left wing up causing my excitment levels to soar,so I pulled the bar right in gaining a pile of speed and got my butt back down on the ground Shocked .After talking to my instructor and getting some feedback I took my second flight and waited till I had more height before I cut the tow line loose. Not a whole lot of style points for the landings but at least I didn't have to use my training wheels Smile The lessons have been a lot of fun and I have met a lot of great people as well.Right from the get go I knew that this was somthing I needed to pursue,to me head first in the open wind is a great way to fly,and probably the only way I can afford. so I bought a glider(a WillsWing Falcon 195 mk.2)and have my harness and parachute on order. I still have a fair ways to go before I get certified and am able to get airotowed by an ultra light into a thermal but I am headed there. Wink I am still out of town at the nuke plant working with no puter access so I still can't be around much till Oct.

www.youtube.com/watch?...ature=plcp The second link in my first post works and this link to my first high tow works, that funny screeching sound you can hear is not me screaming contrary to popular belief.and if you turn up the sound on the landing you can hear some giggles Mr. Green

Cool! I didn't know you could dump fuel from an unpowered ultralight. (HEY! That wasn't fuel!) Laughing

Look like fun. What was providing the tow? I guess all those bf-109 practice landings paid off, you flared nicely and ran off the run out. I kept waiting to see the wheels touch down.

Good job getting back to your "home field" (I kept wondering just how waterproof that camera might be, glad you didn't find out)

What kind of guns are you thinking of mounting? Twisted Evil

It rained the night before so some leaking from the tubing might have occured. The winch is diesel hydraulic and is in the background on takeoff. it runs to the pulley about4000 yards away and comes back to the side of the winch the guys do what they call step towing and can't get over 3000 feet of height. the concert 2 80 caliber paintball guns fully automatic with speedloaders, 80 foot convergence on landing with a crosswind it is much more docile than the 109, slower and wider, but you do have to flare bit harder

Outstanding! That is without a doubt one of the coolest things I have seen - congratulations!!!! Please definitely post more and share your progress as you go!

LMAO....paintball guns, say what now, where?????? I can just see dogfighting with two of those.....

And who but a JG300 pilot would make a comparison to the '109. Love it.

Are you gonna have an image of the Wild Sau on your personal hang glider??? We'll make you a special decal or somethin'.... Mr. Green

thanks guys, the fighter jacket is going to be way kool, specially with the wild Sau patch on the back.I was thinking that the paintball guns would be used more in a ground attack role for the first bit,but I will still keep trac of my victorys on one off the wings. Those fighter watches were really nice too

Woa woa woa lets not get ahead of ourselves here! At $3,850 apiece we're gonna have to see some results before additional equipment funding can be released - surely you understand times are tight 'round the pigsty and there's gotta be some clear return on investment...

Hi HF SlowHand I'm at Bruce Power,it is on the shores of lake Huron in Bruce County, right now we are working on an outage of unit 4.Projects sounds like a good place to be I guess petty cash isn't going to cut it when it comes to paying for my watch. For that kind of dough we could buy our own field of strawberries and hire a security officer. But yet... hmmmm

If I may be so bold, let me suggest something a bit more modest until you at least win an Iron Cross w/ Diamonds....or at least make quadruple ace, in which case the Luftwaffe Ministry will probably fund you one. Beside, expensive watches can too easily go missing in some of those more questionable houses of entertainment. Say something from...

This collection....

-S-

Nice clip Dan..!! Its a blast, isnt it. I use to fly gliders in the Air Cadets and York Soaring Assn. as well as ultralights so I know the feeling. I would chop the engine in my ultralight at altitude and glide, nice and quiet...I need a better job...lol..

Well that catalog certainly is a lot more modest. kind of surprised there wasn't 1 with the mickey mouse face on it though, let me see if I can rack up a few kills and then maybe we can negotiate quadruple ace is setting the bar a tad high though. ultra lights sound like a lot of fun hammer. let me know if you might wanna come out and give it a try or just watch 1 day, it's epic fun and reasonably priced.
