After a well publicized transfer a few years ago of the unique Grizzly Firefly to a Toronto High School for "restoration" in their shop class, the Borden Firefly was returned to Base in late July.

From the school: " As it turns out the project to restore the tank never really got the momentum that it needed to see any real progress. The teacher in charge worked hard to drum up support, both financial and technical but his many other obligations and the lack of funding and proper equipment made the task impossible."

It is located diagonally across from the Museum Parking lot and, other than fresh paint on the new welds to seal the hatches again, looks much as it did last time on Base.

This Firefly goes together (in a way) with the M4A2 Firefly in APG. The turrets had been shipped from the UK for trials, one being fitted to the Grizzly and the other to a M4A3 and trialed in APG. Later, the APG turret ended up on a M4A2 hull and in this form is currently displayed on the Ordnance Museum grounds.

Now I just need to figure out a way to get up there again!! Yikes!
