If you like your old stuff, old cars and especially old motorcycles (the primary interest of the person speaking on this series of videos) you will *LOVE* this....the ultimate barn find, 6 days of clearing out an amazing collection...

Keep watching, there are several videos linked together....

Good stuff, in much more detail than the Wayne Carini "Chasing Classic Cars" episode on that collection, but then he was just one of many bidders.

In-line Indian Fours are one of the ne-plus-ultras of classic bikes that you can actually run and maybe ride. Not Brough Superior stratosphere, but pretty friggin' neat and outrageously beautiful when restored. I have transparencies of one from Daytona in '79 at the Hilton and it's jaw-dropping, a full valence fender version with tan leather seats and bags. I'd cut off a pinkie toe with a fishing knife to own it.

I liked the visual "gas gauge" window on the Excelsior, which I think escaped mention. Reminds me old tractors around here with their glass bowl filters. Wink

I happened to be watching a thing of Velocity Channel tonight on "Million Dollar Collections ' (which is really lowballing), on the "Cars of Dreams" collection. The owner (stupid wealthy now) came from modest circumstances and his first car, at SIXTEEN, was a NEW 1962 C1 Corvette that his dad took out a 2nd mortgage on the house so he could buy it. Shocked

My dad was a nice guy too, of modest means until he established himself, and was supportive of my various adventures...up to a point. Taking out a second mortgage so that I could own a then current supercar was well beyond that point, however. (I recall the phrase, when asked when I might buy a car or motorcycle that was not basically a hand-me-down from my mom was...."When you can afford it yourself". I'm sure I appreciated stuff more, when it did come to me and I could buy it for myself, which was probably the message I was supposed to internalize.

Wow.

How the hell could he afford to acquire all that stuff in the first place?
If he spent the time 'collecting' and filing all that stuff, he can't have had a normal source of income(?).
