M60A3 Grasonville, MD and Princess Anne, MD.
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I took the M60A3 photo at Grasonville, MD in Dec. 2012. It has a sign saying it's a M48 which it's not. Heavy paint, could not confirm SN.
The Princess Anne, MD M60A3 has 1917A stamped on front Left tow hook. The strange camo paint was done after display apparently, and "tree mold" growing on it makes for interesting color. The small VFW it's in front of is extremely protected by bars on doors and windows! I'll be taking more display photos this year, as I make trips in area. No ladder photos on either of these. Rick

Those are "firing ports". Twisted Evil

VFW's are usually pretty cooperative about getting detail shots if you speak with them about it before proceeding. Once established as a person actually informed about armor, they'll usually let you crawl all over stuff and maybe you can actually "help" them with their sign.

Doug,
Yes, they were "firing ports", also learned where "middle of nowhere" is, and how to drive in giant circles in Delmarva. No one was "home" at the VFW, and strangely this one had signs about no drinking? Must be a smoke only place LOL.
I still haven't done anything but stop and photograph these items, and have had no one ask what I'm doing! Mainly, they are closed when I'm there. I'm just glad that they at least place them in front of the VFW's, etc. and some keep them in much better shape than some Museums (not to mention names we all know) even with signs not matching. Rick

That's odd. Usually if no one is home, there's at least a daykeeper or bartender there early cleaning up. Couple of times, there's a single car present and doors are locked, but a good pounding on back door usually brought forth somebody, at least in early afternoon (I wouldn't bet on an AM reply). Have gotten a couple of helpful responses that way.

A VFW with no bar? WTF?!
