A lesser known incident of greater tragedy at this airport was the crash of the modified Caribou. IIRC, there had been an engine conversion that ignored the gust lock feature (control surface locking to prevent aero adventures on the ground in high winds while parked). Failure to pre-flight and/or understand the features of the aircraft you're operating.

The cameraman and/or person making the remarks on the ground was, I believe, the father of the pilot.

"Quickest". Presumably, his trap speed was approaching zero. Razz
