Not so quick...turns out the entire race is being re-run tomorrow night, with the no-damage rule reinstated. We shall see what we shall see! Cool

well...I didn't read past something about you winning. All that stuff about good sportsmanship makes me shake in my boots like a shot of bad Tequila.

Personally I would have grabbed that trophy and dared em to take it away.

That being said, are you in tomorrow night? If so my money's on you and as a little added encouragement, if you win, I'll buy you a pancake breakfast...if you don't pancake the plane. Laughing

Thanks for the vote of encouragement and I missed your post! Yeah I was in last night....the racing was MUCH tighter this time, everyone was far more aggressive on the course (as it should be) resulting in only 3 of 12 pilots finishing the course without smacking into something or flipping their plane on landing.

I didn't wreck but was slowest of the 3 successful finishers. I wafted the nose high in a tight left-hand turn which bled speed off quickly in one part of the course, and extended my landing approach a little bit to much, taking care not to land to hard like last time. The result was a sooper-smooth gorgeous greaser of a landing, but an overall time of 4:18. Winning time was 4:14 I believe.

I was still the only one to not blip the engine going under all 4 bridges. Well, one other guy didn't blip, but he smacked the fourth bridge. Tough break!

Well, now I can get back to focusing on using the machine guns!!!! Twisted Evil

Heads up!

Tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern, it's bomber night, using the dogfight practice map (the one with the big cruiser that you and I attacked, Dan!).

We'll have heavy bombers in formation going after that ship and anything else that moves, and if you would like to fly one but don't have one, katori is looking to give a few away, he has extras that are burning a hole in his pocket. So you can pick up a free Gotha or Handley Page if you want...don't be afraid to ask.

Although it's "Big Bad Bomber Night, I won't be flying tonight, have got the crud that's going around so will be taking the night off. Too bad as I understand the agenda calls for flying the Gotha tonight.

Hey for tomorrow lemme know if you feel like doing the bomber night thing or if you feel like free-ranging across some servers. I'm also tapering off the Wednesday Night formation flying stuff since they've switched to Camels now.

But not only did we do well in the scoring dept but boss Hogg was also able to treat the teamspeak guys with an oration of exactly which fighter plane matched which sports car and why!! Although I did hear some gurgling sort of noises when I asked if the 4 door Mustang had a matching fighter.I guess some questions are best left unasked. I forgot about a birthday party I have to go to tonight so unless things change I wont get on tonight.

I agree it was an absolute hoot, Dan! The Pup is a blast to throw around in the air but in the end nothing beats flying a good old Albatross or Fokker to tear things up. All things considered we did pretty well and obviously did something right to finish at the top of the heap, maybe the scoring system is based on how much of your aircraft you can recycle back into the ground though!

I'm sorry you won't be around tonight but have a good time at your party! Makes me wish I'd hung around for another hour last night but the ground crew here was in need of some attention too. Wink

Well I'm grounded with airframe problems for the time being. There I was, with the whole day off from work due to a snowstorm, and had just finished shoveling snow outside and was flying online, I had just settled in on the tail of a SPAD ready to squeeze the trigger when the sky went to a deeper shade of blue then everything went black. After power cycling and then leaving things off for a couple hours, there's still no picture, and swapping back to a previous good video card doesn't fix the problem. My monitor seems to be the culprit, the onscreen menu won't come up and it intermittently displays a picture just once if I cycle it on the "auto detect" setting.

I think that damn SPAD driver threw something out of his cockpit in desperation, that impacted the backside of my monitor and taco'd the electronics. Evil or Very Mad
