Imagine living here in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and not seeing any advertisement for this historic event. I just check the website and seems most all the public tickets have been sold. I actually live about 5 miles from Hurlburt Field and about 8 miles from Eglin Air Force base. The whole base surrounds Ft Walton Beach and we have that Great sound of Freedom flying over me everyday! I have only seen 1 of the F-35 so far but make no mistake you can hear them over everything else. I wonder if they are going to have a B-25 on hand as I did not read anything about that. Thanks for info and here is salute to them all. S~!

That this is the last public reunion, was announced so late (only in the most recent Air and Space Museum mag) is an indication of the few survivors' advancing age. I'd heard rumors from last year as travel (and probably coping with the public and many well-wishers) had come to be extremely taxing. Failing health, stress of the event, etc. probably mitigates against enjoyment for the actual survivors. Can see where it's not really practical to do this anymore.

The county I live in is spending $25,000 to bring in 5(five) B-25 bombers to celebrate this reunion. They will be parked at Destin, Fl airport and will be giving rides and doing flyovers in the area. Last time just one of the B-25 was here it was like $175 for a 30 minute flight Shocked . Dang I need to win the lottery Laughing . Story is below:

As those things go, that's actually a pretty good bargain....most warbird joyrides I've seen tend to be more, and certainly for the more complex/expensive types to operate (like 4 engine bombers). I think I'd sign up for two, on different Mitchells if I was there.
