Post subject: I'm still around

The last couple of months have been interesting to say the least. First, because of the Micro$oft Vista my puter crashed really bad. Lost all my programs, including all my flight sims..... My computer friend was able to save all documents , pictures, and that type of stuff, but I will have to reinstall all my programs I had on the PC. He did put XP back on it too.
I also changed jobs. I left the little Janitorial supply company I had been at for 14 1/2 years because of a fundamental difference in customer service between me and the owner. I started with a company called Kimball Midwest, and so far I really like it, but as with new jobs, it takes alot of time and energy to learn.
Now I need to find my installation disks for all my flight sims and everything else, but in the mean time I will need to spend most of my time concentrating on the new job.
I'll check in for time to time with my progress and I'm sure questions on how to get back up to speed .
SssuuuuueeeeeWWWWWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Welcome back to the 'Sty, Bullet. Fundamental diffs in "customer service"? Sounds like you actually want to provide it and the old boss may not know what it even means. BTDT. Frustrating when you aren't allowed to provide the service level you know is called for. That's when you move on.

On the other matter....three words: External Hard Drive. Won't save your programs, necessarily, but priceless for data like pics, music, vids, documents, etc. I have all data backed up on two computers and two External HD's. They're cheap now, so no excuse not to have one and no trusting your stuff to some cloud server that you don't control. A massive XHD is like $70 or less at WalMart. Wink

Good to hear you got sorted out and are back in bid'nes, in both senses. Hang tough, Bud....it's the Wilde Sau way!

It's good to hear the transition is working out so far, that's a tough position to be in when you're on the front lines and can't make either the customer or the boss happy. Best of luck in the new job!!

Maybe when things settle down look at Windows7. XP has less than a year left until security updates stop coming out for it. At least Win7 is much more XP-like than Vista and extremely stable. After April 14 2014 it's gonna be one huge roll of the dice staying on the old stuff.

If there's anything you need help with just shout!
