Munster. Panzermuseum
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The M4A1(76) Sherman is one of those upgraded in the 1950s for the Mutual Defense Assistance Program :

On average space and light conditions are pretty good in Munster, leading to good opportunities for photographers. But the two wooden huts that host the self-propelled artillery and Jagdpanzers aren't that great instead, I had an hard time over there:

I take this opportunity to stress that rain gutters weren't unique to Italians M47s:

I expected somebody to ask about the MBT-70 behind the M48A2... I am disappointed Laughing

We had hoped it would follow the others!
Excellent photos..Thanks
The Museum is a great place.

And across the street is an equally good place to have something to eat (Curry Wurst & Pommes anyone?) afterwards.
Its been there as long as the Museum.

I had good expectations for the Museums, yet it proved to be even better than what I've expected.

an interesting study of the Tiger I in Munster :
http://www.mc-kettenschaden.com/museen/deutschland/panzermuseum-munster/index.html

it shows that the tank is made of early, mid-production and late parts.

Nice shots...as usual.

The cut-away display barrel next to it is presumably a 120mm smoothbore?

That shot (and the others) is why I asked, I spooled through your Flickr pages. Wink
