Munster. Panzermuseum
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Massimo,

please note that your photos of the Panzer IV turret are not part of the Munster museum album. They stay "alone", not in any album.

Good catch. Thanks!
I've just fixed it.

Massimo,

Did they say where that Pzkw IV turret came from? There was a Pzkw IV dug up on the Vilseck US Army post sometime in the 1980s or 1990s, but I think it was only a hull. They also dug up a Hetzer. Does anyone know what became of these wrecks?

As far as I know the turret is not from Vilseck but from Thuringia were it was - together with some other tank parts - used as stabilisation for a river bank in postwar times. The Vilseck Pz IV is the one now in the Duxfort collection ...

The Museum's info panel doesn't say anything about its history, sorry.

Not a great shot, since it's inside one of those wooden huts, but maybe Rafal would like to use it for the PDF:
