US postwar tank engine poster
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Here is a scan of a poster chronicling 55 years of military systems history at Continental Motors (later known as Teledyne Continental, and later on purchased by General Dynamics Land Systems.) This was created in the 1990's. The full size version is on my blog.

I would love a copy of that poster for our museum! How big is the original?

Agree, that is a terrific poster, thanks for making it available.

I'd also mention that the posted link is bad, but clicking on "home" gets one to the page where the poster is located. Even at maximum size, it would be nice if there were a way to increase the resolution so all the text were more clearer.

The Photobucket page that is described on your blog page is that of our "own" Neil Baumgardner, though I suspect you may already know that. It's well worth exploring and features pics by numerous other members (properly credited, of course).

The link to the AVDS document is also helpful and I saved that one immediately!

I fixed the link. The scan of the poster is from a small reproduction I have of it. I have the full size poster as well, but it's too big for me to scan it at home. I'll have to take it to a shop some time and have them scan it for me on a big scanner. It's probably 32 by 30 inches or so? (I'm too lazy to go get a tape measure right now.)

Thanks for pointing out that the photobucket page I linked to is Neil's. It's funny, I know his name from the AFV historical register document but when I looked at his photobucket, I didn't match the names in my head. He certainly has done plenty of work documenting all the wonderful vehicles on display out there! I've used his register to locate quite a few of the AFV's on display in my neck of the woods.
