Hello folks, our museum has been working on the paperwork to get a monument tank for the front lawn for a while now, we have a viable candidate and have put a lot of work into the process. I can’t say too much at this time, and I am not 100% sure we will even get the approval from Uncle Sam, but I have a feeling that if it does happen, we will need to be ready to move fast.
Based on the data we have, our initial cost estimates to move the tank to our location, pour a slab and possibly re-paint the vehicle will run between $8k and $10k. I am coming to the AFV community to see if any of you are willing to help bolster our war chest.
Once again, I stress that we are not guaranteed approval on the vehicle, but I need to start planning. In the event the Tank falls through, any money raised here will go into our vehicle upkeep fund. We currently have a 1942 GPW, 1944 WC52,1952 M-37 and a 1966 M718 that require attention.

I have been trying to avoid doing this before we can announce any real news, but some changes in the situation have made this necessary. The museums PayPal link is:

Well, it looks like the tank fell through. Better luck next time I guess. Anyone know what the secret is to get approved for a monument tank?
