Weird tank in Armada Michigan
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I took some pictures of an M48 hull with an XM66 prototype turret in Armada MI today. If anyone wants to see them, they are here.

The air cleaner boxes would suggest a dieselized tank (A3 & A5), but only three instead of five return rollers? Interesting combo - M48A1E1?

That would make sense to me. I looked the M48A1E1 in Hunnicutt's book "Patton." This hull seems to fit the description.

Glad you liked them Rick. It was a bit of a drive to get to this tank so I am glad someone found the pictures interesting. This is certainly one of the stranger tanks on display in Michigan that I have found so far.

We don't have a tank (yet) but we do have some tank related stuff!
