M88 ARV. Hercules (plant 2/3/2014) and My M88 photos
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: M88 ARV. Hercules (plant 2/3/2014) and My M88 photos

Here's an article about the York, PA plant where the Hercules is made. My Brother sent it to me. I used to live in Lancaster, PA when this was the BMY factory.
Also, I include a few of my M88 ARV photos. There was one M88 in Lancaster, but due to BRAC they closed that small base years ago.

The first photo/first post is the now empty Lancaster National Guard Depot. I think Lancaster City now owns it. Rick

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the nickname Hercules first applied to the A2 version of the M88?
Minor nitpick aside, thanks for the great pics.

Costas, You are right about the Hercules being the M88A2. These photos are of the M88A1, the A2 being years later. I'm not sure if I even have any of the M88A2, but I do have a few M88A1E1 shots (just have to put them in the computer) and there will eventually be some photos posted. Not a nit pick, I try to keep the "subject" part as simple as possible (I knew all were M88A1, they are mostly APG vehicles) and most dates are 1980-1990s. Glad you liked the photos. Rick
