Polish Tanks and Armoured Vehicles
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Polish Tanks and Armoured Vehicles

Last weekend there was a public presentation of 7TP

odkrywca.pl/projekt-7t...tml#664345

and the 7TP is running Smile www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Elpt77Inuk

The reconstruction was started by Grzegorz Klimczak, but he received the help from many other people from everywhere in Poland.
This reconstruction will include many original parts recovered from various places in Poland -original armour plates, suspension parts,
gearbox etc... The tracks aren't original but come from a T-26. It is already armed with an original 37mm Bofors gun

The parts where given by Krzysztof Rakus and Fundaction „Było… nie minęło” to Muzeum Broni Pancernej in Poznań.
The parts won't be used in renovation of museums TKS but will part of collection.

I have a question about the circled bits on this vehicle: Apart from it's hinge points and connections as a suspension component, why such a complex casting (compound curves and such)? It seems very much distinct from all the many simpler shapes and basic functionality of everything else on this vehicle, and only protects a relatively small part of the suspension (and that from the top).

Is there some aspect to this bit that warranted it's complexity and apparent weight relative to the rest of the vehicle? Something going on in there that I'm not seeing?
