Roberts Armory - New Rochelle, IL - Gallery
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Roberts and his wife, we had the privilege of touring the wonderful collection in the Roberts Armory. We spent a delightful morning touring the museum and chatting with the Roberts. All of the vehicles are operable and used in reenactments as the 70th Tank Battalion. Mr Roberts’ engineering acumen was used in fabricating the turret for the M22 Locust, converting the half-track into an M3 75mm GMC (he scratch built the 75mm and mount), converting a WC into the M6 GMC (he scratch built the 37mm gun and mount) and converting the T-16 Universal Carrier into the Gepanzerter Machinengewehr Trager Bren 731(e). Mrs Roberts did all the sewing for the the canvas covers and participates in the reenactments as well. The Willys MB jeep is painted in the marking for Mr Roberts’ father’s jeep used in WW2. Along with the vehicles, the museum displays are filled with fascinating artifacts, photographs and information - many of the local area veterans.

Nice collection and, as a modeler, I enjoyed reading about the 1/1 scale modeling projects, lol. Of course, the T16 is not an entirely appropriate basis for the Panzerjaeger Bren 731(e), but I guess they had to go with whatever was at hand.
