Alas I won't be around but I have been before.
The best airshow in Britain (actually Europe) is Farnborough.
The best WWII (and I) military show is Duxford, "Flying Legends".
Duxford is an RAF airbase and museum.

If you let it be known that you're virtual, you will undoubtedly meet some of the RAF662 guys.
Awesome bunch.., but mostly fugly and can't aim straight :P.
They're all still jealious of Shades' good looks.
Especially the guys from CFS1 (RAF_Pagan, I'm talkin' to ya! :D)
RAF662 has their own little meeting point every year, as it's their home turf.
RAF662 (CFS1) were actual RAF pilots, serving or former.

It's a ways from me though.
If you're going to do it, figure it out a year ahead and book accommodation close by.
Traffic is a nightmare.

It is an awesome show on a relatively small airfield with a lot going on during and around the displays.

There is one tent dedicated to vet's.
They mostly sell autobiog's and memoirs.
Unfortunately every time I go, there are fewer of 'em.
I'm scared to go back, for their sake.

Do yourselves a favour.
Go.
Then swing by Brooklands (South West of London) so I can have a beer with ya and show you my 'home' museum.
Brooklands is an old car race track.
Used to race the old Bentley V8's around it.
Is now a transport museum and home to one of the Concorde's.
